Dr Sue Crossman has a nursing background and has held senior posts in health services management, education and research. She has a particular interest in challenging processes within health services that are complex and time consuming but generate little benefit, seeking to create innovative solutions. She co-developed, implemented and evaluated the ‘5Q Care Test’ to determine whether people need social care or a nursing assessment. The test was adopted in several hospitals across England and tested for reliability in 3 regions. Sue’s main focus for research and publications has been nursing in General Practice, where she worked for many years. Her PhD thesis explored factors affecting the evolution of the role of the nurse in General Practice and developed an empowering employment framework. Sue continues to be actively involved in the national General Practice Nursing agenda, conducting research, creating professional development tools and facilitating leadership programmes. She also provides coaching and organisational development support to Primary Care Networks.
